CHALLENGING HEIGHTS COMMEMORATES 2025 WORLD DAY AGAINST CHILD LABOUR IN BUIPE

Yesterday in Buipe, Savannah Region, Challenging Heights hosted a grand community durbar marking the 2025 World Day Against Child Labour under the global theme: ” Progress is clear, but there’s more to do: let’s speed up efforts!”

The gathering united traditional leaders, religious figures, political representatives, law enforcement, social welfare officials, and other duty bearers, parents, students, and community members to renew commitments towards the fight against child labor.

While acknowledging the progress made in reducing child labor, the event served as both a commemoration and an urgent reminder: with 21% of Ghana’s children aged 5-17 still trapped in exploitative work, we must dramatically accelerate our efforts.

Challenging Heights emphasizes that protecting children’s education, rights, and futures demands action on all fronts: strengthening law enforcement, increased support for vulnerable families mobilizing communities to identify and report cases, and backing the efforts of frontline organizations in this fight.

World Day Against Child Labour is not just a day of awareness, but a renewed call to action – because every child freed from labour represents hope for Ghana’s future.
