I WON’T CONTINUE WITH 1D1F TAX EXEMPTION – ATO FORSON TELLS MINORITY.

The Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson says he is not going to continue with the 1D1F tax exemption started by the previous NPP government.

He said, this is because the evidence before this house suggests the 1D1F tax exemption has been abused badly.

In a significant move to streamline government spending and enhance fiscal discipline, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has announced the elimination of expenditures on key programs, including GhanaCARES, YouStart, and the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative.

The measures were announced during the presentation of the 2025 Budget Statement in Parliament on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

The Minority in Parliament questioned why the current NDC government did not allow 1D1F tax exemption.

However, Mr Forson said he would not get involved in such an abused initiative.
