President John Dramani Mahama will today, March 24, 2025, inaugurate the newly constituted Armed Forces Council to oversee the administration and strategic direction of the Ghana Armed Forces.

The Armed Forces Council is responsible for advising the President on matters relating to defense policy, military administration, and operational readiness.
The Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, will serve as Chairperson of the Council.

Mr. Fuseini Iddrisu, Member
Ms. Nancy Dakwa Ampofo, Member
The inauguration of the Council is expected to enhance defense governance and improve coordination between the government and the Ghana Armed Forces.
With the Vice President as Chairperson, the Council is set to focus on modernizing the military, improving welfare for personnel, and strengthening national security policies.
The Armed Forces Council plays a vital role in shaping military strategy and ensuring the Ghana Armed Forces remain well-equipped and mission-ready.
