Gov’t inaugurates technical committees to drive youth employment initiatives.

The Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment George Opare Addo has inaugurated two technical working committees to oversee the implementation of its flagship employment initiatives, the Adwumawura Programme and the National Apprenticeship Programme.

The 12-member Adwumawura Technical Committee and the 14-member National Apprenticeship Technical Committee have been tasked with ensuring the successful execution of these policies, which are designed to create sustainable employment opportunities for young Ghanaians.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Accra on Wednesday, March 19, Opare Addo charged the committees to expedite the rollout of the initiatives to address rising youth unemployment.

He also set a two-week deadline for a comprehensive report on the program’s implementation progress.

“This Adwumawura program aims to empower 10,000 Ghanaians every year between the ages of 18 and 35 and to also help them launch their businesses, effectively lowering the employment rate among our young people. Through this program, we are committed to contributing with the necessary support, in terms of training, financing, and special opportunities to make young entrepreneurs realize their dreams,” he stated.

  8. Ministry Of Trade, Agribusiness & Industry Nominated Representative
  9. National Development Planning Commission Nominated Representative
  10. National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme National Development Planning –
    Mr. Vincent Ohene-Ntow
  11. National Youth Authority – Mr. Inusah Mahama
  12. Youth Employment Agency – Dr. Sulemana Abdul-Salam
  13. Ghana Enterprise Agency – Madam Habiba Sumani
  14. Commission for Technical & Vocational Education Training – Mr. Anthony Seyram
    Kwame
