As the Minister for Finance prepares to present the government’s 2025 budget, several stakeholders within the country are demanding to hear good news from their sector.
Among them is the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU)

In an interview, Abass Imoro, the industrial relations officer for the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), said they expect the scrapping of some taxes.
They include the sanitation and pollution levy, special petroleum tax, and price stabilization tax.
Failure to do so will compel them to increase transport fares, he said.
