Dr. Rashid Tanko, the Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called for the immediate arrest of Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, after his controversial comments encouraging NPP supporters to engage in violent confrontations with NDC members.
Speaking on Prime News on ABC News GH on Thursday, February 6, Tanko condemned Annoh-Dompreh’s remarks made during a recent visit to Ablekuma North.

The NPP MP had incited his supporters by saying, “If indeed you are a member of the NPP and you go to meet your fellow party member fighting a member of the NDC, join your party member to beat the NDC member.”
His comment comes amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Ablekuma North Constituency election result, which remains undeclared. Both the NPP and NDC have been claiming victory, fueling tensions among constituents who are left without a parliamentary representative.
Tanko, who was visibly outraged by the comments, described them as a clear attempt to instigate violence.
He added, “He should be arrested, because he is instigating violence. Such statements have no place in a democratic society and could lead to further unrest.”
