NPP supporters warn Party executives not to Contest again because of their poor performances in the 2024 election

Arthur Kobina Kennedy, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has attributed the party’s defeat in the 2024 general election to corruption, incompetence, arrogance, and poor governance.

He argued that these factors alienated voters and led to the party’s downfall.

In an article titled “The People’s Verdict,” he expressed disappointment in the NPP’s inability to uphold its founding principles and criticised the party for prioritising personal wealth over national interest. He also pointed to the leadership’s failure to tackle key issues such as illegal mining (galamsey) and internal factionalism.

He described the NPP’s leadership as a “Kyebi Mafia” and accused them of betraying its grassroots supporters.

Meanwhile, an NPP strong member Kwasi Korang has criticized the party executives for leading the party into opposition.

According to him, if Ghana is like any other country, all the NPP electives will have resigned from their posts for a long time. He said he is surprised that the whole Upper East NPP didn’t win one parliamentary seat. If you are a chairman there and you want to contest again, then you are a very Bold person, he added.
