Some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Effutu Constituency of the Central Region earlier today, expressed their displeasure over the ongoing appointments by President John Dramani Mahama.
Clothed in red and black shirts and headbands, the irate supporters burnt tires as well as partially destroyed a pavilion constructed by James Kofi Annan at the party’s office premises.
Dr. James Kofi Annan has condemned the act of these NDC supporters in the Effutu Constituency and has also told them to have patience and allow the President to make his decision and also trust in his judgment. He later iterated that the supporters were furious about this when they heard that an indigene of the Effutu Constituency had been appointed as the Gaming Commissioner. Stating that when they needed his help during the 2020 and 2024 election years, he never helped them so they didn’t understand why the President gave him an appointment since he didn’t help them during their campaign. This made the supporters furious since he who had given his all has not been appointed yet.
