Some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Effutu Constituency of the Central Region have expressed their displeasure over the ongoing appointments by President John Dramani Mahama.
Clothed in red and black shirts and headbands, the irate supporters burnt tyres as well as partially destroying a pavilion constructed by James Kofi Annan at the party’s office premises.
The protest occurred on Friday 24th February, 2025.
In an interview with Nyce FM Gyaso Gyaso news team, the angry supporters said, James Kofi Anna who was the party’s Parliamentary Candidate in the constituency deserves an appointment.
According to them, the 2020 and 2024 Parliamentary Candidate, James Kofi Anna has sacrificed a lot for the party.
They said, he has single-handedly revived the spirit of the party in the Effutu constituency since he joined the party six years ago.
He has made huge financial investment into the party to make it more attractive to the public.
Mr Kofi Anna has also played critical roles at the Central Reigional level as a member of the regional communication for President John Mahamh as well as performing several functions.
During the campaign, they were assured that Mr Kofi Anna will be appointed but the promise is yet to be fulfilled.
They cannot wait any longer hence calling on President John Mahama to appoint Mr Kofi Annan.
