Mahama will incentivize businesses to create more jobs – Julius Debrah.

President John Mahama has revealed that his government plans to offer new incentives for businesses to help them create more jobs in the country.

The move is part of efforts to empower the private sector to lead in efforts to reduce unemployment in the country.

Speaking on behalf of President John Mahama at the First Sky Group Thanksgiving Service, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah disclosed that, President Mahama is working to engage the private sector to support the government’s operations.

“As part of the resetting agenda we will hold various consultations with businesses across the sector. We will allow various private sector businesses with certain concessions to enable their work to flourish and create jobs for people,” he said.

Meanwhile, the First Sky Group says it is set to construct 200 Megawatts of Renewable Power in the regions in the north within the next two years.

Executive Chairman of the Group Eric Kutortse said the initiative will be an addition to a power plant the group is currently working on to support Ghana’s energy sector.

“The First Sky Group has taken a bold step to raise the needed funds to undertake the construction of a solar PV in Yendi. This is a collaboration between First Sky and the Bui Power Authority. The project is 65 percent complete, and we intend to complete it by the second quarter of 2025,” he assured.
