COP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah’s bust at EOCO has been destroyed.

The bust of COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, the Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), has unfortunately been damaged. Unveiled in October 2024, this monument was created to honor her contributions and was accompanied by the establishment of “Obatanpa Tiwaa Gardens” by EOCO staff.

The incident reportedly occurred around midday when a group of individuals entered the EOCO premises and vandalized the statue, despite the presence of security officers who were unable to intervene in time.

When the bust was first unveiled, it sparked a wide range of discussions on social media, with many individuals expressing concerns about the authority of the staff to commission such a memorial without prior government approval. This situation highlights the need for clearer communication and guidelines regarding public monuments, ensuring that such tributes are both meaningful and properly sanctioned.
