Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A-Plus, the newly elected Independent Member of Parliament for the Gomoa Central Constituency in the Central Region, has shared his thoughts regarding his potential alliances in Ghana’s upcoming Parliament.
In a Facebook post on Monday, January 6, 2025, A-Plus revealed that both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have approached him for collaboration, presenting compelling reasons for his consideration.
He noted that the NPP, represented by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has officially extended an invitation to discuss a partnership in Parliament. A-Plus mentioned their proposal, which includes a significant commitment that the NPP will not contest the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat in the 2028 election.
A-Plus expressed his genuine inclination towards the NDC, who have also invited him for a meeting to discuss potential alignment. He acknowledged the support from both parties, emphasizing the tough decision ahead. “While I have friendships in both the NDC and NPP, I must prioritize my constituents and my values. Ultimately, my goal is to align with whichever party demonstrates a clear commitment to the best interests of the people of Gomoa Central.”
Through his post, A-Plus reiterated his focus on ensuring that his alignment in Parliament serves the community effectively. “#Thebusyteam #wɔnyɛbusy #halfmanhalfbosom #kwameputin💪🏿 #thepeoplesperson #halfmanhalfamazing #GomoaCentral #Election2024 #Nyametease”
